Fitness Friday - January 3, 2014

Let's get this year off to the right start and get our fitness in daily (not just on Fitness Friday, but it is a good reminder); take a walk, dance, jog in place, it doesn't matter whatever you do, just get moving.  Fitness Friday is when we will reassess our fitness week, and plan our activities for the weekend.

So how did it go this week?  I have to be honest, I was fighting a cold/flu this week, it was tough to find the motivation, but I got it in on Tuesday and Thursday; even got a good run in on Thursday too.  The WODs were tough (my butt hurt for days after "front rack lunges"), but I pressed on and got through them. I did learn that taking an antihistamine an hour before a WOD may not be the brightest idea; at one point I thought my heart was going to jump out of my chest, I won't do that again.  But thankfully I made it through alive.

What are the weekend plans?  As January begins, so does "race season" (never thought I'd have a "race season", but here it goes). I have a race every Saturday in January, except for this one.  My first race is on Saturday, January 11th when I will be taking part in my first Superhero Scramble, it is the first time I will take part in a race of this type, and will be the longest distance I have taken on as well.  I am looking forward to it, but I am nervous about the obstacles and the distance; mostly the obstacles.  This weekend I will just be concentrating on getting ready and training for the races ahead.  So there will be running, WODing, and my best efforts at keeping myself moving.
