WOW is that really me?!?!?!?! #HerbalifeNutrition #IAmHerbalife

Today I decided to wear the same workout clothes I wore to the club on my 1st day of Fit Camp back in the beginning of March. I really wanted to see how far I have come. I know I have lost weight, but the me I see in the mirror doesn't look much different. Isn't that always the case.

I know my weight loss was, at the very least, noticeable because I have received a lot of positive feedback. But as I go through this journey with its highs and lows, and many bumps in the road I don't always notice it myself. I am so happy that this time, which will be the last time, I have a real reference point. A real before photo.

Before and Now (still a work in progress)

I started my Herbalife Nutrition Plan in February and joined the Fit Club in March. I am not always perfect in my plan, but the plan has been perfect for me. I have more energy, I have lowered my body fat and increased my muscle mass. At times I have been feeling like this process has been slow, but it wasn't at all, it was just right.

I am happy that despite having had 3 separate surgeries since the end of November, I have been able to take back control of my health, wellness, and nutrition. Even when I was unable to exercise, for nearly 8 weeks following my last surgery in May, I was able to lean on my nutrition plan to keep things moving in the right direction.

Additionally, I have surrounded myself with an encouraging and supportive group of people who truly want to see me succeed in my journey and who are teaching me to support and encourage others along the way. I look forward to the rest of this life long journey and to all the possibilities to help others along the way.

Join me on this journey, comment or contact me to get started.

Marine Corps Marathon here I come!!! #runwiththemarines #shipmatesandsisters

Bucket list item soon to be checked off, running a full marathon before I turn 50. It will be my one and done.  I have 3 half marathons under my belt now, and while I never thought I would want to push to the full marathon point, I made it a bucket list item and training is underway. I decided to do the Marine Corps Marathon because it means so much to me as a USN veteran, but also because it takes me back to where I completed my first half marathon, Washington, DC. I don't plan on breaking any records, but I know I will cross the finish line.

So in just 100 days, I am going to lace up my running shoes and hit the pavement for 26.2 miles!

But that is not even the best part... little sister, from another mister, friend and shipmate is running it with me (#shipmatesandsisters)! There are no words that can fully express how thankful I am to her for agreeing to running with me. She is a seasoned runner and already has a full marathon under her belt; her "one and done". I am looking forward to us "beating the bridge", and crossing the finish line together, even if we are crawling when we cross.

Here's to the next 100 days of training and getting ready!
Run with purpose...
...finish with pride!

Making my way back

Wow, I cannot believe that I let this blog go for over 2 years. My apologies to all who had been following. I hope you will stick with me, or come back as the case may be, as I start back up.

A lot has changed in the past two years!  Since my last post, not only did I make it through the Nike Women's Half Marathon, but I also completed the St. Augustine Half Marathon and the Puerto Rico Half-Marathon. But the best thing by far that has taken place since my last post is I am now a Grandma (Glam-ma), to a very handsome, now 2 year-old, grandson!

Finish line - Nike Women's

St. Augustine Lighthouse

Start line, Puerto Rico Half-Marathon

In the past 2+ years, a lot has taken place, some great, some not so great, but all part of life's ups and downs. And all part of what makes me the woman I am today! I did get sidetracked, and some of the goals I had achieved and was trying to maintain fell through the cracks. Thankfully, I didn't fall too far, and I have been able to slowly climb back up to where I was. I am still a work in progress, but uphill progress is being made.

It is humbling to have slid back after making such strides, but falling down is all part of getting back up again. I decided to get back to my blog because through it I can keep focused and accountable. Even if no one but me is reading, I have a place to keep track of the good, the bad, and the sometimes ugly of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

To those of you among my readers, I can only hope that I can inspire someone else who may be going through life's rough patches to start climbing back up as well.
